A Pleasant Surprise

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the best way to rip a CD to high quality MP3 encoded fies involves the use of software which is all freely available (LAME is open-source, but EAC is closed-source and only free for non-commercial purposes.. imho EAR is still quite a bit nicer than the alternatives though ;).

Notes about my experience

Compiling with VS2005 (Visual Studio 2005) Cannot open include file: 'msacmdrv.h': No such file or directory.. will finish this later on :o

Sidenote

a sidenote which is amusing to me:
The acronym LAME stands for LAME Ain't an Mp3 Encoder, which surely has origins with GNU] standing for GNU is Not Unix. Freakin awesome..except that lame IS actually a real MP3 encoder...so..yeah... . ...
